‘Nurturing Creativity and Practicality for Life’
The Faculty of Art and Design Technology is one which offers students opportunities to develop their creativity; we encourage them to be innovative, to develop critical life skills and gain an insight into cultural, social, ethical and moral issues. Our aim is to help students understand the wider world around them through a diverse curriculum at both KS3 and KS4.
At KS3, students build a foundation in the four main areas of Design Technology and Art. This involves learning to work safely and independently in a range of different environments, as well as learning how to work with a range of tools/equipment and materials. This enables students to make an informed decision regarding which pathway(s) they wish to pursue at KS4, where they have the opportunity to develop in-depth knowledge and skills in one or more areas of our Faculty.
