On Tuesday 9th January two of our year 9 BTEC Sport students officiated at the two Stoke Primary High 5 Netball Competitions.
The girls attended a Netball officiating course in December, and due to their confidence, knowledge and understanding of the sport they were then chosen to umpire the Competitions held at Fenton Manor, whereby 23 schools took part, with 34 teams and 252 primary school children attending.
The girls, in total, officiated 12 matches and the semi-final match. Both the girls thoroughly enjoyed leading and umpiring the games, and were commended for their enthusiasm, commitment and resilience, together with showing all the essential ingredients of initiative to ensure both competitions ran smoothly on the day.
This was a fantastic opportunity for the girls to develop their leadership skills, and they will hopefully be officiating the forthcoming County Finals in February. Well Done!
