Urban Fairy Tales

BTEC Performing Arts students worked very hard preparing and producing a performance entitled, ‘Urban Fairy-tales’ as part of their ‘Planning, Preparation and Production’ unit, which they performed to Year 7 students and then in the evening to their parents.

This required them to look at traditional fairy-tales and to give them an urban twist.

They decided as a group that they wanted to take the infamous story of Cinderella, a story about how a young girl goes from rags to riches and how all of her dreams come true when she meets her Prince Charming.

In this version, they took the traditional pantomime idea of having the principal male character played by a female but this is where our similarity ends as they cast the central character of Cinderella as a male version, reflected in the name, Cinderfella!
