The week beginning the 10th of July marked the start of our annual ‘Higher Horizons’ events week for Year 10. The students engaged in activities linked to employability and all had a mock interview. Students were invited to attend wearing business dress to meet their interviewers, all of whom came from the employment priority areas for Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire. The students looked the part and embraced this opportunity to ‘sell themselves’ with enthusiasm.
The feedback from the employers was exceptionally positive and the students should be very proud of the way they conducted themselves.
Well done! I think you will agree that they looked very professional.
Activities also included two days at Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form College or Stoke-on-Trent College. Students were able to explore the opportunities on offer for further education and sample subjects of their choice. Again, our students made the best of this opportunity and represented the academy in a very positive way.
