Awards Evening

Thursday 11th January 2018.

Following our excellent summer examination results which saw us achieve a progress score of 0.21 ranking us second in the city and in the top 25% nationally our ex Y11 students were invited to our annual awards evening to celebrate this outstanding performance.

Awards were given to over 120 students who made positive progress across at least 8 GCSE subjects including English, Maths and Science.

In addition each faculty and subject nominated individual students for special mention.

Our guest speaker was Alex Staniforth who despite being only 22 years of age became the fastest person ever to climb all 100 county tops in 72 days.  He has also been on four expeditions to the Himalayas.  Alex is no stranger to overcoming adversity himself suffering epilepsy, stammering, depression and bullying in earlier life.  His speech was inspirational inspiring others to overcome their own Everest in life.

Warm congratulations to all award winners and many thanks to the parents, friends and extended families of the winners who made this such a memorable occasion.

Finally, special thanks to Trutex on Weston Road who once again provided all the trophies for the event.
